Default Fubar or Snafu - YOU be the judge

This one is taken handheld, with the 300mm and the 1.7 tele extender (so focal length of 500mm, or 750 on cropped sensor), wide open @ f6.7, @ 1/5 of a second (he's out his mind, I hear you say, and you are right!) ISO 200. So really a fubar image of the Red Rock Canyon Waterfall. For one reason or another I kept it, instead of immediately deleting it. I kinda liked the colours, and the play, though it was a terrible shot.To me it looks like a expressionist painting of sorts. Kinda like it ... what do you think?

It's one of those camera motion shots Marko loves. I'd say this is a very happy accident, if it was an accident, because the colors match well and it even looks somewhat like a waterfall. It's a very appealing complex image.

Definitely like the colours - looks like a shot Monet would take if he had a dslr

I agree with edG it very much does look like a Monet painting as a matter of fact I thought it might have been when I first saw it before I ready your notes on the shoot.

    lol!!!

I like the way the movement emulates impressionist brush strokes here especially at the top of the image in the blue tones.
But overall...to me, it looks like an accident versus a purposeful deliberate composition.

And that is precisely what it is .... you should have heard Greg laugh when I took the image; he just about killed himself, said: you BONEHEAD, why is your tripod still on your backpack????
