    Default Lunch Time Walk

Been trying to capture this sight on Spring Garden Rd. in my home town of Halifax for a while now. I think I've finally got what I was trying to accomplish.

    Comments?

    Regards, Iguanasan

I love the blue building reflecting in her, especially the reflections on the left thigh and the eye!

I think you cropped just a bit early on the left hand. Either all the hand should be there or very little of it. As it is it looks like accidently cropped it across her fingers.

I'm thinking this could be a great shot at night.

Thanks! What you can't see is the company sign just in front of her. That, ultimately, is what cropped her hand at that point, I just used it as a guide to get as much in as possible. I wanted to keep her full right hand in but the left wasn't possible :( Maybe I'll try again and see if I can find an angle that I've missed before.

A night time shoot might be quite nice. I'll have to give it a try.

Id probably also try a narrower depth of field to isolate her from the background some more - the background is not doing the image any favours here...

Wow.... I find this image horribly addictive..... the background is fried but the subject is so striking there is a lot room for play... this image should be in our post processing assignment section...

Glenn - Haven't chatted with you much so not sure if it's okay to butcher your images. If this is a problem let me know and i'll pull em down..

I realize these are crazy abstract but the subject basically makes anything possible..

the 1st ones a softened smudge and the 2nd a posterized back ground.... I started a 3rd with a mosiak brush on the background looks pretty good as well but think i'll quite for a while....

Hey, Travis. Those are cool. Feel free to play with them on the site. (I should add that to my signature). I'll put the image up in the PP thread for people to play with too.

Right now I've been focusing on getting the best image possible without the PP stuff. The one problem I have and the reason the DOF isn't nice and short is that I'm shooting with a point and shoot and still saving for my DSLR. If I'm on top of the subject I can get a narrow DOF but when I'm across the street it's pretty much impossible.

    Regards, Iguanasan
