Beautiful. I respectfully disagree with Ben. Not being able to see her face is what makes this photo. The old broken down brick wall and a little girl looking down like that evokes a feeling of sadness. Sometimes, we photographers, when critiquing a photo have a hard time seeing the forest for the trees (no offence, Ben).

I do agree that while I understand the apparent need for the name/logo I really hate to see them. I've been putting them on my own photos but I am thinking there must be a better way...

my 2 cents - if you want to evoke the sense of sadness that iggie mentions (as it does work with the broken wall & down turned face) i would convert this shot to a b&w to get rid of the happy pinkness on the girl. or selectively use color on the wall alone. just a thought! welcome to the forum & look forward to seeing more of your work lucid!

Hmmmm... I like the image, almost. I think Kiley's point is excellent. This image, with the mood begs for a mono conversion. Additionally, what I would like to see is less empty space. Irrespective of the mood, the child is the subject, and as the image currently is, is lost. I would crop at least 10% off the top, and 20% off the RH side so that there is less empty space, and the subject takes up more of the image.

I don't have much to add to what been said really.
I like it very much feel it would stronger cropped near the 'v' in love so that the expansion crack in the wall on the right doesn't show. I like Kiley's idea also. You try just desaturating the girls colours only to 'dampen' the feel a bit.

For me, the biggest problem is the tag ;it's a distraction. Everything else I can live with, though I too would have liked to have seen a bit more face and perhaps a wee bit more 'zooming in'.

I didn't say I didn't like it - I do like it, in fact. Just that I think I would have preferred to see her face - of course, it's difficult to make judgements like this, but it's also what makes feedback more useful sometimes.

None taken, all input is good
The head dropped certainly does help convey that mood, but in this case, the rest of the body pose works counter to that to my eyes - losing some of the sadness and confusing the message. Hence, why I would prefer the head raised - or a different shot where the whole girl is conveying that sadness, if you get what I mean.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's even harder when using a web res piccy, as the text would be unreadable, so it's a compromise. But ultimately, I try to make it big enough to create a distinctive identity, without overwhelming the subject of the picture...
