    Default Sunset

I normally shy away from sunsets. Everyone has them. Almost too cliche for my likings but today just a little different. With some extremely strong weather producing several tornados today, I was bound and determined to intercept one and try and get a good picture. Ive been trying for two years now and the limitations of the city will not let me travel fast enough or far enough without the storm already getting away. Ive had close calls and today was fruitless as well. I usually just talk to friends on the phone giving me an idea of where the storm is and then I rely on my knowledge of the area to navigate from there. I tend to jump right into the storm and get into the worst of it. About 20min of driving 90mph in high winds and heavy rain, I cleared the front of the storm, but it shifted south before I could get a hold of radar update and the last of the sunlight. Making it out to Maumee Bay, I walked up the big hill to get a higher vantage point. Realizing I missed it and couldnt get there before the sun went down I waited a couple more minutes for the sunset instead. Having left so fast, my batteries were pretty much dead and only had a few pictures in them anyways.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!
