Default My Daughter's Submissions to the National BETA Club Photography Contest

This year, she is submitting three images, BW, Color, and Computer Enhanced

I let her shoot what she wants (she doesn't feel comfortable shooting people). When it comes to processing, I let her do as she wants. She basically just moves the sliders back and forth in LR until she finds what she likes.

Her third submission will be of the riverboat I posted last week. She has her own shot and I will let her do it just like I did, step by step while watching a Youtube video.

Political Correctness - the teacher sent the first photo back saying it is not appropriate for a school photo contest.

How is that political correctness? More like stodgy narrow mindedness. How can the teacher censor it?

It don't matter because she would be the judge and not select it. Teachers judge these things, not photographers, so some cute image of a puppy dog wins every year. Even the max size requirements is wrong. The photo can only be 8x10, not 8x12. I've tried to tell them most people shoot in 3:2 ratio, but they are two dumb to understand.

I thought the toilet image is a great juxtaposition photo, but they have no idea what that is.

I would crop it the second one more tighter to make it only about umbrellas.
