Okay, I dunno why it's so small. I linked it from flickr....Critique anyways? This was primarily an exercise in exposure and focusing, taken at my brother's wedding way back in December.

    Let me have it

P.S. If you guys find it too small, I can just upload it directly from the laptop!

I think as an excercise in exposure and focusing you did a great job. In PP I might try a little dodging inside the ring to get the diamonds to shine a little more. Other than that I think you did a great job. The lines around the cloth are cool and kind of lead your eye right back to the ring, so I do not see much problem with it being centered.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. JJ, I'll keep that in mind and give it a shot. I thought they might be too dark.

Hello Gem - that's a fine sharp picture.
But maybe you should try a less overcoming background; a darker red perhaps and without a design? The stitchery is a bit distracting my eyes.

Ring is just overwhelmed by the red, I would have gone for Macro shot on the ring bringing it more into the forefront. Right now the Red Cloth just overwhelms what I would think was the centre piece of the Photo. Just my

When in Flickr you should be able to see a text link just above the photos called 'All Sizes' ... click that and your largest size you uploaded should show. Below that image is the url in a separate field ... copy that and use the image icon here to display.

to get some sparkle on the jewelry, try cutting a hole in the middle of a white 11x14 sheet of thick paper to fit your camera lens to get some reflections on the stones and metal.
    and maybe come in closer.
