Messing with my camera

Hi realist,

I VERY MUCH like the panaoramic stich mode in photo 1. It is a great concept and it works well in this shot. The shot on the left is a bit distracting due to the couch and the lamp and the subject not being lit enough...but as a concept this totally 'works'. The middle shot and the right shot do work well IMO. Can you describe how it was done? Is it photoshop? Is it a mode on your camera? both?

Shot 2, at least for me doesn't work that well. Personally I would never crop at the eye, just above maybe but never at the eye itself. Although it's perfectly cool to occasinally break the rule of thirds I think this shot would have worked well if the eyes were placed on a line that follows the rules of thirds. Looking into the nostrils is also a bit distracting.

The panorama mode is on my camera. I have the Kodak Z1275 point and shoot. And the second criteque wasn't harsh at all, I actually wasn't looking when I took it. What I was more curious about is the focus. Wether it is better on the eyes or on the end of the snout? Thanks for your comments
