Yeh, Chantelle's zoom lens has really closed up the perspective to give that impression. I certainly wouldn't be standing there with several thou of camera gear if there was truly a threat. Not to mention it was much darker than that shot shows and quite cool. Getting wet down was not on my agenda at that moment.
Only used my 18-55 Wide angle for that shot, and yes it was getting dark. He was quite far away from the wave when it hit, but that's why I like the shot because it looks like he was so close to it.![]()
