Very interesting pic, color is nice. Those are real mushrooms? It looks like they were drawn in......

I like this one Moinx2, most of the tones are nicely rendered. My main nit would be that the main subject (stump at mid-left) lacks sufficient shadow detail. It feels darker than it should and should pop more against the already darker background.. More fill flash or more PP with the stump would help imo. Hope that helps - Marko

Agree with marko; some exposure issues as well, I think a more closely framed image focusing on the two mushrooms and a bit of the stump would make a great image as well.

Looks like you used some glow on it, must say I like that. I find the colour patterns in the back interesting. The light areas in the tree on the back are a bit disturbing for me, they prevent the stump to stand out. Making them darker would help.

Agree with everyone so far. My thought that jumped in was that if you go back try and get down and to the photographer's left. That bright tree stump that you see on the right is kind of distracting but as a contrasting background it would be very nice. Cool shot, MoinMoin.

What a cool little stump and scene! Love it.

I do agree that zooming in to feature the mushrooms would be nice as well. I also think that zooming out to show more of the stumps reflection might produce a nice shot also and lessen some of the distractions.

It looks as though a slight Orton effect has been applied? If so, I think this might have exaggerated the brighter areas and made those bright distractions a bit worse, AND, maybe darkened the shadows as well. No treatment might work best here.

I don't find the big stump reflection a distraction at all. I think it adds nicely to the interest. The bright streak right next to the stump is a bit much though. Moving to the left and covering that streak with the stump itself might help.

If this was mine I would be making all the background a bit darker to just make the stump jump out a bit more.

I still like it as is though.

well i'm concerned because this shot has the potential to be really really F-ing sweet. but it isn't clear :[ as in i dunno the camera shook or something. because the light on those mushrooms really make this a "scene" and the reflection coupled with the depth of field make such an awesome and refreshing tone....
