This is the unit I've been using for about a year now and while it's not the cheapest, it does have a couple of advantages. One is that it has both wired and wireless capabilty and second that rather than an IR release, it uses RF (radio waves) meaning that the signal isn't blocked by leaves or anything else in the way. I've used it successfully out to about a 100' - excellent for birding.
