    Default Selenium Toning

I used CS2 for a while as my son had it for his business needs. In it PS had presets for selenium tones and there was one that used a purple in the quad set and after some minor tweaking by me really had that selenium tone to it. The purple made the blacks very dense and the mid tones very rich looking.
I don't have the combination of the quad set I was using but is it possible to use PSP X2, Painter X or PE 4 to accomplish the same task? PS CS2 used curves to adjust each color separately so the person using the quad could adjust it to their own tastes. I used to have the purple very subtle, at least to my eyes, which left the image very rich looking. Any help will be most appreciated, thank you.
    Kindest regards,

    Tim

Starting with a RAW image first turned to black and white I will admit used RAW 5.7 in Photoshop I have not got other programs loaded to work with RAW images. So then loaded the black and white Jpeg into PSP 7 and next step has to be to turn into a colour image. So I went to colours bottom of list increase colour depth and selected 16 million colours. Then to adjust colour balance and any colour you want can be selected.

I think the main thing is to do it in two parts just like one would in film days. Turn to black and white selecting any filters wanted then return to colour. I must admit both with Photoshop and Paintshop pro it took me some time to find how to turn back to colour. With Photoshop you select mode and the Paintshop Pro select increase colour depth.
