    Default Course suggestion?

I am looking to take a online wedding photography course. It has to be online because I live in the middle of no where and there is no college near by that offers anything even close to a photography course. I have been doing a little looking around...I found one from "proud photography"...(actually I found the link from this web site) The expert wedding photographer. I was wondering if

anyone has tried this online course or

if Marko vouches for this course?

Or if anyone has any other suggestions....

    Thanks

    Robin

I’m considering this online course: One of the best photography courses available

    Might be worth a look?

I took a college course and this month did my first wedding. What a nightmare. I as suggested went to the venues before the wedding and worked out where I could get some good shots.
Two problems although not raining during the wedding it was wet outside so the bride did not want to get dress dirty. So in spite being in an old medieval castle in Ruthin there was little to reflect where the wedding was held.
Second was in the unoccupied room I tested the lighting. And adjusted to suit using two flash guns one placed to add extra light as I would be some distance from the Bride and groom. However once the room filled up there were loads of bright dresses rather than drab brown medieval surroundings so lighting was all wrong.
Nothing in the course prepared me for this. The couple loved the photos but I knew they were well below the standard I should have produced.
Without my wife it would have been worse. Trying to badger people into standing where we wanted was not easy. Even so I could not get them to look at the camera. My D-SLR in auto mode waits until there is no shake and the distance is set before releasing the shutter. Maybe just 2 seconds but enough to mean they were not looking right way.
Non of this was warned about in the course. The only thing he did warn was about taking in door shoots the problem of standing back enough to get all in the picture. My f3.6 at wide open lens was not really good enough for a wedding. Because using a D-SLR my fixed 28mm lens was more like a 50mm lens and just not wide enough.
Then to add to that was my mistakes where once they did move outside I forgot to re-set camera to auto ISO and continued to take at 800 ISO.

I am use to carrying a load of gear into a wood or mountain and having all the time in the world to set up the shot. Weddings are very different. I don't think I will ever do another. Just not my scene. But the course taught me very little about how to organise the guests or persuade them to do as you want. It's not so much the technical but the crowd control part which was missing and I can't see how anyone can teach crowd control without having a crowd!
