Default Lightroom import and cataloging question

    Hi gang,

Quick one for those of you that know lightroom (I'm using version 4) well.

I have a few images that I saved into my lightroom folder WITHOUT using lightroom. This means that when I open lightroom, these images aren't catalogued and do not show up.

Is there an automatic way to get Lightroom to catalogue these images? (I no longer even know which exact images they are or in which lightroom subfolderd they live in).

    Thx in advance! Marko

I don't have V4, but in 3.6 you right click on the folder where they are store(or any folder above) and select Sychronise Folder. Lightroom will check for new and deleted images and look for meta data changes. This is how I reconsolidate things after moving things around or between PCs.

You can also import them through the regular import window using the Add function. Select the source folder and the images that have not been imported to the library will show as available for import and you select the Add to Library option. Syncing the folder does the same in one step as Antz suggested, but that's basically how it does it except that syncing will also remove any files that show in your Library but are not in folder (you may have moved them on your hard disk outside of LR).
