I did this in Photoshop from memories of a place I used to go camping. There are no photographic elements in it whatsoever.



And while I'm being totally off topic here is a link to a short video I made last year for fun and no profit. It is almost eight minutes long and any feedback would be welcomed

I quite like this shot but I'm unclear what you mean by no photographic elements. Isn't this photo a combination of other photos?

This was totally "drawn" using Photoshop brushes, tools etc. None of it ever passed through a lens. I used my memory as the camera.

Interesting image! You obviously have some artistic talent. To critique your art (and I have taught computer art in an arts school), I would say that it suffers from the tendency of too many beginners toward too flat an image.
The answer would be to look again at the elements of design (rules of composition in photography), add sand in the foreground and put a "vertical" or two or three in the foreground and verticals could mean a person, bird, tree, beach umbrella, dog,....almost anything.

It would add perspective, create a centre of interest, and give more impact to the image.

Your video is excellent. Your voice is perfect for the narration in sound quality and modulation and fits the theme. The writing is well done and fits the images and movement very well too. Technically as well, there was excellent sharpness, colour, smooth camera operation and well-executed transitions between scenes.

I don't know how much you know about professional video but the price for producing such a video at the very low end would be about $10,000.

I have some experience in this area as well.

Wow I just watched your film and I loved it. SOOOOO soothing is the sound of your voice narrated over the moving water. Your camera work is great too, capturing interesting angles and juxtapositions.

Thanks Marko & Tegan for your kind comments on the short film. I do have a couple more but I can't post them as I have no rights to the music used. I am however Getting ready to shoot one this summer with actors, dialogue, locations etc, as such it will be a first for me.
