Yeah I'd like to try that too. What should i try to color the photographs with?
Well yes!
I love handcolouring and will probably write an article on the topic shortly.
2 pointers right away:
- It's better to use a photo paper with some 'tooth'. This means a paper with some texture so that whatever you use to apply the colour, it stays on the paper more easily. If possible, avoid glossy paper.
- You can use coloured pencils, crayons, etc. MOST people that do this for a while try Marshall's paints or pencils. These are paints that let some details of the photo show through because the paints are not opaque.

Here is an example of handcolouring where the fruit was painted directly onto the photograph itself using Marshalls.
