    Default Getting an SLR

I'm going out to buy a new camera today, an SLR if I have enough...getting one from a pawn shop...I can't wait. I'll have to figure out all the bells and whistles for it though when I get home...wish me luck!

I got a new camera. It's not an SLR but it's just like one. It's a Kodak EasyShare Z740. I am ssoo happy... Now I just have to learn all the manual settings...lol.

Well congratulations! Just had a quick look on dpreview.com and that looks like a great starter camera. Looking forward to seeing some more of your work!

Thanks guys. I've been shutter happy since I got it . The only thing is, is that it eats batteries like crazy, I'm getting some rechargables soon though. I am now learning about all the manual settings and I hardly ever use "auto" at all...

You will like it, I have a Z710 the older model for my P&S camera and still enjoy using it when I a not allowed to bring my DSLR. Rechargeable batteries are a must. Hope you have fun with it.

Thanks. I definitly am having a bunch of fun with it and I did get rechargable batteries. The thing was a vampire when it came to disposables.
