Sorry if these are stupid questions but I have tried to find the answer in the FAQ and found nothing...so what does it mean that this a "Level 2 assignment"? Also are there any rules about posting images in this assignment, such as it must be a recent photo taken for the assignment?

Level 2 assignments are just a bit harder - that is the only difference.
In general, we prefer that the posted images are shot for the assignment versus finding one in your archives.
That said...many people break the rules.
