    Default What is rude?

Once my boss wrote me a check which bounced, I as well as he got charged $25.00. I can see him having to pay but why me? Every time I go into overdraft I get fees charged, use my debit car too many times I get charged. If I cash a check at the bank it was written on when I don't hold an account there I get charged $5.00, use my debit card in another branches ATM and it's $1.50 each end, on and on it goes. But look, the banks are standing tall and gluttonous, raving about the blah, blah billion dollar profits they made this year. This to me is RUDE!!! I'm all for making profits but not by means of extortion. If you're making obscene amount of profit then how about slacking back on those fees or maybe paying your tellers a bit more. This crap just makes me angry inside

When I was a kid, there were no service charges and they paid you interest. That account that was supposed to NEVER have charges for the life of the account now nickel and dimes me every friggen month.

Buy some bank stock and you'll feel less raped.... or rob a bank and you'll feel more even. (wait I didn't say that.)

The one that really ticks me off is the fee to cash a cheque. Someone wrote me a cheque. I took it to not just the bank, but the BRANCH that the account holder wrote the cheque from. And still they wanted $5.00 to cash the cheque. I really, really don't understand that one. That one really makes me mad.

Probably the idea of shareholders is what drives this insane preoccupation with profit so that Ideas out and the second option is negated by the fact that I can't do the time

I'm actually going to call the bank on Monday and see how they justify that Iggy

A few years ago I was dead broke and 150$ into my overdraft at the bank, and it just so happens that I won 10000$ in the lotto. So I went to get my 10000$ cheque from the lottery corp in Richmond and they gave me a full interagation to make sure I was the only owner of the winning ticket. So then I go to the bank and try to deposit the cheque and ask for a few hundred dollars out of it to pay some overdue bills and the bank teller says that she cant give me any cash and says they need to hold on to the 10 grand for 21 buisness days. The lotto cheque was certified so I said phone the lotto corp directly and verify it with my name, the teller said oh we cant do that. So I said give me my cheque back and I will go get it cashed somewhere else in the next twenty minutes, the teller said I highly doubt you can get it cashed. well I had 9800$ in my pocket ten minutes later from a cheque cashing place which they phoned the lotto corp and had it verified rite away. moral of the story is banks are nothing but crooks and I try to use cash were ever I can you'll save alot more money in the end.

Oh, don't get me started.... I would rather keep my savings, if I had any, under my mattress than to deal with that legalized thievery... I remember depositing $4K cash to my account one time and getting interrogated to the point where I had to sign something saying where the money came from- seriously I think it would have been easier if I was taking that amount out. And another time a buddy of mine had money taken out of his account fraudulently and it was very difficult to get it back- it was their unsecure product that created it, but the onus was on him to prove his innocence. In the end he got it back when they established it was taken out at a ABM in Toronto and he had receipts proving he was in Calgary at the time. And what really grates on me is all the survey and such calls they harass me with- it's like they are asking me "dear Mr. (last name always mispronounced by script reader wth heavy accent) perhaps you'd like to work for us for free by completing this 20 minute interrogation right in the middle of your family dinner time, when we've never done anything but take from you your whole life, so that we can figure out clever new ways of extorting money from you while appearing to be at your service"
