Default The uncertain life of a freelance AV tech.

Due to the economic downturn I have struggled to stay afloat this year, had to juggle bills and payments quite a bit and this summer was looking like it could potentially wipe me out. I primarily work for one local Audiovisual company and a while back I told the owner I was struggling and would most likely have to part company and find other areas in which to make a living. I immediately was sent to Kelowna to tech a medical conference for five days. This helped catch up on some bills but I'm still struggling I called a friend and he agreed to hire me on for the summer, steady work painting house exteriors...It's a job, it pays OK and it's steady. Monday morning I arrived at the first house of the season fifteen minutes early and while waiting for my new boss to arrive my cell rang.

    "Hello"
    "Hey Mike...Gotta job for ya!"
    "Uh Huh"
"How do you feel about being the new Director of Audiovisual services at our largest hotel account?"

Didn't get one speck of paint on me

Couldn't have come at a better time, great salary, medical and dental and a good clothing allowance for the fancy suit I bought yesterday. I just love how life twists sometimes
