Default Photographers, How Much Do You Spend on Photography Every Year?

How much did you spend in 2013 and will you spend more or less in 2014? If you have a bussiness on photography, how much can you get from it? Just be curious about what forum members general condition.

    Last year I purchased my 70-200 2.8 ($1700), 10-24 ($600), plus a few nic-nacks, battery grip, Blackrapid sling, etc ($400?).

This year I plan to do some portraits and possibly weddings (doing my first one this Saturday for free) and make a few dollars.

I have spent nearly $350 on framing for my show coming up in April, but I made that money up last month with my other hobby (garage sales and eBay).

I M Not in photography business. So you can decide how much to SPEND on your hobby depending how deep your pockets are. You can INVEST if u actually earn from it. this year i am stuck with 200-300 US$ only.
Some Deep and cool thought!!! Yet to find

How much you make seriously depends on what kind of photography you do and how often you do it.
A full time wedding photographer with experience can easily make 50K+ plus a year. The best wedding photographers can easily double that. The best full-time photographers in any genre will be making 6 figures+.

Most full time photographers starting out today will find it rough for at least 3 years in my experience. expect to make 10-20k or less depending on genre.

When I graduated from photo school way back when Jesus was a baby, we had a marketing class in our final semester. On day 1 of that class the teacher said 80% of us would NOT be doing photography as a full time job within 1 year of graduation even though we had just invested 2.5-3 years learning photography. His stat seems about right to me.

Im not ashamed of what I've spent, but I believe I'll keep those figures to myself.
