I think it's a great shot, although I can see some compression from the forum here.

    Thanks for the comments.

No forum compression happening here (or the last time you thought it was happening) as this and the last image satisfies the less than 325K and less than 1029 pixel in width restriction upon upload.

Whatever you are seeing is in the file. (or the cheap scan, lol)
Neither the File size nor file dimensions were reduced upon upload in any way.

Please feel free to do an image properties check.

Normally if the forum were to compress an image, the output file would be something like 110k or less. And you'd notice it more readily. Personally, I upload between 200-300k.

Any filesize much higher than 110k means that's the file size the OP uploaded at. Heavier files will always look better, this is true - but personally I'm okay with the web quality of 200-300k and it's a bit of protection from would be thieves. Could be the cheapish scan, could be me, what are you seeing?

    Hope that may help

Well if you look close at the grass in the upper right, and the blacks toward the bottom you can see some blocking. It's a grid pattern that is seen throughout the photo. It's not as severe here, but noticeable enough.

Well I think i'm just hyper aware of it then. I suppose if you don't see it most people wont either.

REALLY likin' this one Marko. Love the emotional feeling I get from this.

As for the grid and blocking. Don't see it either, and I saved and blew it up on my screen. Just looks like a perfectly exposed black and white film scan to me.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

I like the comp/framing, and the lovely B & W tones of the film.
I welcome all critique and comments on any of my photos
