If you walk through the dunes at dusk you might see some banging into each other

Seriously though, yes ... but not often. You develop a sense of timing and can judge quite well where the riders around you will be when you get there. Occasionally though someone doesn't see someone and a collision occurs, often followed by lots of collisions between fists and faces
