Default December 2012 photography assignment - White

    Hi members!

Anyone have regular and level 2 assignment ideas for December?

How about "White" ... with snow and all should be interesting, and 'white' is tricky to capture, since it tends to blow out easily ....

My idea for beginner would be contrast. Can be black and white or color using complementary colors to contrast each other, like blue and yellow, red and cyan, or green and magenta.

For the advanced I think long exposure would be a good one, because a lot of creativity can come out of a long exposure. There's endless different types of photographs with long exposures.

Since there is no concensus - I'm going to make the call..

White will be our regular assignment.

For level 2, I like the long exposure idea but I really don't know if everyone has a tripod and that's essential.... (maybe for another month if everyone says they have one)

I actually think Contrast is a good level 2 idea - so I think I'll make it so.

    Merging suggestion posts now.

    Thx M

    Default out my front door

so I got up, set the cam up with the 300mm on a tripod, and shot into the neighborhood. Light was totally flat, and I thought I'd do an HDR on some of the hoarfrost and snow loaded trees. Well, I did not weigh my tripod down enough, and the mirror movement added lots of motion blur, so I thought I just take two of the regular exposed images and share them here ...

Same here in Toronto/Mississauga a lot of boring brown and dull white skies.

Well here's my stab at the assignment. White is a very delicate thing!

No snow yet so I had to rummage around for white things. These aren't pure white, but it was interesting to fiddle with them nonetheless.
