I am new to the forums, but have been listening to the podcasts for the past few weeks. Thought I would jump in head first and submit a photo. Here is a shot from a visit in Lethbridge, they had the bridge lit up a few times throughout the year, for the 100th anniversary of it being built. Couldn't pass up the opportunity even though it was around -31c out.
Hey welcome to the forums Gotoplanf:highfive:
Glad you jumped right in and with an assignment too - Nice! :highfive:
Cool perspective here, not used to seeing bridges at this angle! Good on ya for bravin' wicked winter as well.
Very nice first shot here at ph.ca there Plan F :)
THe Lethbridge highlevel bridge is great. I lived in Lethbridge once upon a time. The coolies are cool and the drive into the city is so dramatic. For those not from the area, coolies are kind of "reverse" hills. They are formed by the path of the river carving out the land rather than glaciers or whatever causing the upheavel of the land.
Every year the old salt storhouses of our Hanseatic city are illuminated.

ver pretty! too bad about the railing in the way.
Just love "The Hood" raiven. Magical capture - jimmy
The High Level is a magnificient bridge spanning the coolies which like you say are an amazing sight in their own right. I enjoy my visits to Lethbridge and just happened upon this great sight. Thanks Marko, Raiven and Mad Aussie for the feedback. I look forward to learning a lot from these forums.
Hey Bambi - here are the salt storhouses again (right side) without the railing. The little building in the middle is our city landmark the "Holstenor" ;).

Not as sharp as I would like, but then that is what these assignments are about right? Learning! I learnt always take a tripod..even if you think you are going back to the car to get it.

I like the angle you've found there Antz!
Beautiful Antz!
A last kick at the cat, so to speak.
When I was down at city hall today, I passed by Olympic Plaza where all the skaters were waiting for the Zamboni to shine up the ice.

Cool shot ... you polish your ice??
Ha! Ha! You have to polish it up or you can't skate on it very well. The skaters put little grooves in the ice that makes it difficult to skate on after awhile.
I thought I would actually enter this month, no city lights here but we do have street lights :p
Kind of a mystery shot there crystal. Nothing like getting in inthe last minute!!
