They reduce the minimum focal length of the lens so you can get closer and still focus. You can get really cheap ones from EBay, but you lose Auto Focus. You can get the Canon genuine one for $quillions, but these Kenko ones were not too expensive and AF is retained. I'll try a review after I have used them for a while.

Ok i am new here so i don't know if i'm clicking on the right icons etc..etc...really liking these macro images shared. It is a good time of year to catch frosty close-ups. Nicely done. I am going to keep checking everything out here on the forum, hopefully soon i'll figure out how to upload and share as well.

Not crazy about the stupid blinding sunspot reflection on the building, but I like the way the light from it caught the frost.
