Default June 2010 - Photography assignment - Motion (in motion or stopped in action)

Anybody...now is the time to get your thinking caps on...
    My suggestions
    Repeating patterns or symmetry
Motion - either in motion or stopped in action
Beginnings and Endings - your definitions of
I think there was a suggestion recently in a past assignment idea of "yellow" which would be interesting also.

I've been looking for an excuse to do some night photography.

we had night a few months ago.

But I like any of the ideas. Another idea I had is the '20 steps concept'. you take a photo within 20 steps of your door.

Front door or back door? Or which door? Indoor or outdoor?

I'm pretty much happy with anything, I love being challenged to workout how to capture things I wouldn't normally think about photographing.

    Ummm some ideas:

Food - Everyone loves food right...
    Sound - Capture sound visually.
Emotion - Portray an emotion in an image.
Beautiful Blur - where a Blurred element is essential to the image.
How we live - Capture the way we live in 2010
Self Portrait - Ok not everyone might be up for this one???
Grunge - the state of being covered with unclean things

I'm up for one of those 2 suggestions, actually the second one will get my vote, because it's more like street photography.

Beautiful blur is neat and motion can also be added to the category. I am also up for capturing emotion or even mood as that can be a wide interpretation also. Nice ideas Richard.

Wow - many good ideas here early on.... as always the theme with the most support becomes the theme.

Of these suggestions - I'm into...
    - Beginnings and/or endings
    - Yellow
    - Emotion - Portray an emotion in an image.
    - Motion - either in motion or stopped in action
    - 20 steps from your door

As I said, I'm good with motion or emotion.

Hmm..don't know how this would go but what if we have a list of "masters" to choose from..then people can do their own homework on their master or choice. And then after your little studying try to create a "masterpiece" of your own through your "master" studies?

Hmm..sounds kinda silly in a way I guess.

    motion or emotion..

Motion sounds really cool... have we done motion yet?

Going through past assignments it seems we have never done motion before as an assignment.

I like the idea of motion and of 20 steps. For the 20 steps, that could include any door, even an interior one. Might bring out some subjects not otherwise considered.

I thought Kat's idea was really cool. Doing some studying about a master photographer and then flattering him/her by imitation.
Motion sounds good to me too. http://www.photography.ca/Forums/ima...s/twocents.gif

Oh, I missed that one that Kat suggested about the "Masters." I think that would be a good idea sooner or later. After all learning from someone you admire by imitating them can help you develop your own style, I think.

Blur sounds like fun. Haven't done that on purpose anyway. Gale

Hi members - I'll try to make the assignment official later today or first thing tomorrow morning - sorry for the delay.
