Are you interested in this? It's a bit early in the morning and costs $40 to get in, but still, an unusual chance to shoot. FOCUSED | Calgary Zoo
I have a ticket and hope to be there at 7. I was reading the rules for the photo contest: the submission has to be a black and white, portrait orientation photo. Kind of weird, don't you think?

Calgary has a great zoo. One of the best. It would have been nice to be able to attend something like that. Maybe next time if I'm in the area.

Default The trouble with photo contests

I did attend the event early this morning. About 200 photographers attended, and we were the only ones in the large zoo park, until about 9 o'clock. So there was pretty good shooting without crowds. The contest rules are that each person is allowed one entry, and it has to be jpeg less than 25 MB, Black and white, portrait setting. The categories for the one entry you are allowed (one entry period, not one in each category) are African, Antarctic, Canadian Wilds, Eurasia and Garden. My top 13 shots are attached, and I hope the forum will critique to help me decide which one to submit. Your comments much appreciated.
