Default Nik Silver Effex Pro for Lightroom

Has a 15 day free trial so I thought I would give it a whirl. It integrates very well with LR and is easy to use. It has a variety of presets that can be adjusted and you can create your own.

Remember the little boy from "Splish Splash'? Here he is converted with Nik.

The bad news is- this is very expensive software at $200.00 U.S.

What do you think? Is it worth it or could my LR do as good of a job converting?

I have used it ..but I don't really like it! Don't know why..I just can't see myself using 95% of it..maybe I just haven't tried it enough....

I've been using it for several months. I also have Nik Colorfx. They are a little pricey, but worth it in my opinion. Then again, maybe I just enjoy bending over for the folks at Nik Software.

Raiven, try Alien Skin Exposure 2. It's been great for me. It has an extensive colour and b&w filter list. There's also a 30 day trial available. Most of my non-bird stuff on flickr is Alien Skinned. I like Velvia for landscapes and Provia or Tri-X for street. The high contrast B&W's are nice as well.

I don't think there's a LR version though, you'll need PS :( It's also a little pricey at $250, but you get many more filters than Silver EfEx. For a PS dummy like me, it's totally worth it!

I've been using the full Nik suite for a couple of years now, and it's well worth the cost.
