The "Ehrenfriedhof" war memorial in Heidelberg

Had a chance to visit this site again, perched on top of a hill overlooking the "Rhein Ebene" or Rhein Valley. Remembered here are the fallen of the first and second World Wars who were living in and around Heidelberg. It is an awe inspiring site, especially in the fall when the leaves are turning. At the center of the image you see the Grand Memorial Stone, which bears the following inscription:

Zum Gedenken and die Opfer von Kriegen, Gewalt und Unrecht in aller Welt.

As a Memory to the victims of wars, violence and injustice in all of the world.
