    Default Winter meadow dawn

Went on a sunrise meetup w/some friends. We were on Great Bay, but the water views weren't doing it for me, so after the sun crested the trees I headed to the snow-covered meadow.

The sun hasn't risen very high and so there are shadows on the snow that bring up the blue. I love how it contrasts with the sunlit snow. Very subtle. It was worth tramping through the snow and made coffee and breakfast later even more delicious.

Very nice image, love the way the first rays kiss the snow, love the colors and the composition. Very well done.

thanks Matt. isn't early winter light the best? I'm making more of an effort to get out in it this winter. and now that I look at it, I think this image post is suffering from some compression issues. I'll get another size up there.

thanks Lisa. It's the only good one from the morning aside from a picture of my friend Tim in his Oscar the Grouch hat.

Excellent! The soft low light is awesome and the delicate snow is just great. A wonderful capture.
