    I wonder what this place was? Some sort of train servicing place perhaps?

    MA, do you mean that particular building? Maybe loading grain or something into the cars? This is an unused portion of a still-active rail yard; yes I'm sure they do servicing there as well.

    XPWizard, that building is on my list for my next venture there. I love this area- so much to photograph, but I don't spend a lot of time there all at once because no one's really supposed to be there. When I go, it's usually very early on Sunday mornings before too many people are up and about. There are some relatively isolated portions but also some in view of lots of back yards.
