Not bad at all for a first attempt! Making that water look milky is fun, isn't it?
Nice shot! Although, to exaggerate the height a bit, I think a wider angle , set lower to the ground, and turned to portrait mode, would have a bit more impact.
I absolutely love shots like these, do you have any more?
dig how you composed the rock "frame" - well done
Great exposure.
Thanks Justin, Ed and Vyeko.
Justin - I agree a lower perspective would have been better, however this is from a viewing platform. I wasn't into rock climbing in order to get that lower perspective.
Ed - I did try to use the rock to frame it.
Vyeko - It was a difficult exposure. Lots of dynamic range between the falls and the dark rock on right. I did the best I could to bring this out in Lightroom.
I think I like the horizonal play of water as much as the vertical. Nice!
This is an excellent waterfall shot. I really like your composition.
Like the others I like this. I am intrigued by the water trails at the extreme bottom right. These could have made a subject too.
Well done. I tried to get a shot there in the fall and there had to be 100 people milling about.
Looks like a great way to start!
Excellent first time shot, and lovely scene you chose. Very well done Asnow.
Great first attempt ... you're hooked now! :)
Thanks everyone. There weren't that many people that day. That's probably because it is early in the season and the weather wasn't that great either.
I did get lucky in that it was low enough light to use the ND4 filter that I had. Exposure was 3.2 sec. (I did buy a ND8 filter for brighter days but I'm damned if I know what I did with it, may have to buy it again)
