    Some would say it's under-exposed, but in this case I think the exposure works perfectly. Nice capture.

    I like how you exposed the reflections.


    EDIT: btw... I see you have replaced the line "jpeg no post" with "capture nx2"... what gives?

    I like the color vs. the near monochrome.
    I wish the angle was a little lower.

    Question for you!
    How did you manage to get a shutter speed of 1/500 with those other camera settings? Is the light stronger than I think it is?

    Hi Reijo,

    You are right, normally snow would never need these settings, my
    D80 is set to center weighted meter and I metered off the bright white
    spot in the water.

    At that exposure the snow of course would be really dark and thats
    the beauty of the midtone slider to lighten up the snow. This photo would
    be impossible to do in-camera jpeg as the bright white spot in the water
    would have been to far clipped or the snow would be to dark.

    This is the reason why I switched to RAW to get a better tone curve.
