Thanks all, and yes the Sun-dogs usually mean that you will get some type of moisture within 48 hrs.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
Those are very cool! I love the second photo, but I am a prairie girl so that bit of flat ground reminds me of the prairie.
HBGirl, when I was in Edmonton at Christmas, we saw some of the best sundogs I have ever seen. A complete halo just as yours are but with small "suns" on each side. A very cool sight.
Sun Dogs in the afternoon and halos around the moon aren't uncommon here, but the snow sure as hell is. I ask myself sometimes if you guys complain about it as much about the cold of your winters as we complain about the heat of our summers.
Wonderful shots. Get'em while its there, and show as many as possible.

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Both are really nice but I have to go contrary here and pick #1. I like the crisp detail in the silhouette....bigtime!!
I'm with aubintbay. No sun dogs here when it was colder, but that requires - sun. We didn't have much of that.
