Default Crawling back onto the face of the planet

I've gotten behind here, and I missed you guys. I've also missed the camera - I hadn't been truly out and about for months, just grabbing a quick shot here and there. There's been an inversion here that doesn't look like it's going away any time soon (and everyone's lungs are complaining). We've also frequently had morning fog with freezing temperatures. I was out last Saturday, and the hoar frost was hanging on past 11. Wanting guaranteed "something neat" photos, I hit up Lakeview Park and Lake Lowell. As I discovered, it was still pretty foggy over by Lake Lowell. Warning: I'm about to bombard you with a lot of the results.

This one is actually just out the front door - one of the rose bushes.

I tried for tones blending into the next when I was at Lake Lowell. This was one of my better lucky finds.

Once I got to Lake Lowell, I basically drove from vantage point to vantage point, climbing down to the shore at one point (they make it easy, because of the fishers who line up along the road during the summer). When I got a bit too cold, I got back in the car to warm up and drive to the next spot. I noticed after a few stops that it was taking less time to get cold, and figured that was a hint that I needed to stop for the day. Too bad, because there was lots more interesting stuff.

Welcome back QO, and glad to see ya' out and about. Especially with these wonderful results.

My fav's would have to be the second Willow/cat-tails shot. Love those sheer frost curtains hanging off the weepers.
The rose bushes out the front door has that perfect dof that really makes it pop.
....and that single dam gate wheel is beautiful with that frosty creamy background. (Just wish that wheel peeking in on the right was cropped off and a little more space on the left). Would be a framer for sure imo.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
