    Default Tobermory

    So after a bit of a hiatus to build a website (up, but still a WIP) I finally got out for some shooting again. One of my favourite places to go is the Bruce Peninsula area. It's got lots to offer and with summer finally making an appearance here, it was a fun couple of days. I took the ferry (Chi-Cheemun) from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island and back, which occurred over the sunset period and it was worth the run. The cameras got a good workout on this trip. Here are a few shots for your viewing enjoyment:

    I put these in in the form of links because I kept getting told the images were too large (even after I shrunk them to 800 x 534 px) so I'm going to have to go re-read the permissible sizes again I guess.

    Anyway, hopefully we'll start seeing a bit more people posting here. It's been pretty quiet of late .

    Later!

    Welcome (back) to the forum. These are all nice with great exposures and lighting. My favorite would be Cove Island Lighthouse. Your website looks good too. Lots of beautiful landscapes.

    Thanks very much folks. I should have said that all except the first image were taken on a D5 and the 28-300mm lens except the Lady-Slipper was with the 105 micro lens. Image 1 was taken on the D810 and 70-200 f4 lens.

    Appreciate the kind remarks.

    One more to see if I can get this to post as an image:

    OK, I seemed to have this figured out now. Anyway, this was taken from Cape Hurd just south of Tobermory on the Lake Huron side of the peninsula. It's sunset and no, I didn't get the gull to sign a model release so please don't copy this photo or you'll get me in trouble . Thanks

    You say ... "I put these in in the form of links because I kept getting told the images were too large (even after I shrunk them to 800 x 534 px) so I'm going to have to go re-read the permissible sizes again I guess"
    Here are the forum size restrictions;
    Filesize limits on this forum - upped to 325K - Need to resize your pictures?
    I'm thinking I may have to do what you have done and create a website to link to. I seem to lose a lot of quality when I have to reduce the images to the forum size restrictions.

    These images are beautiful. Well done.

    Thanks for this asnow, appreciate the comments. See my post in "Lion's Head" as I may have found why I was getting the error message when trying to post the images.

    Thanks again man
