I liked how the colour of the chairs matched the colours of the flotation devices.

both shots are a good stop underexposed to my eye.
shot 1 - If the kayaks are the main subject, why include all that darkness in the shadows around them. I see 2 kids at the end of the shot, but they too are underexposed and less interesting than the kayaks themselves.
Personally I would have cropped much tighter and the underexposure would have been less apparent.
shot 2 - The underexposed man is not helping in shot 2, he is a distraction to my eye - not sure why you included him.
    Hope that may help

    Thanks Marko for your suggestions

Shot 1 - I've been trying to keep the 3:2 ratio in my crops for consistency. Perhaps this is one case where I should make an exception. As for the underexposure, I did try it brighter, but it seemed to wash out the colour in the kayaks a bit. It is better in Lightroom and always seems to come out darker when I export as a jpeg.

Shot 2 - I agree the man doesn't help. He didn't move in the time I was there taking pictures. The forum hasn't been too active recently, and perhaps I'm trying too hard to post something. This pic was probably not worthy of being posted.
