    Default Maumee River Walleye season

The Maumee River is known as the premiere walleye fishery in the world. Millions upon millions swim into the river to spawn. It happens right as winter cracks. The first really nice day with somewhat normal water levels produces a feeding frenzy that is unmatched. Today kicked the season off. It was almost 70F here today. The water levels are going down and warming up. They were mostly locals today, but in the next few weeks we will have thousands of people lined up in the river fishing from all around the world. I stayed on the banks and talked to everyone while taking pictures. Would have been out there fishing instead of taking pictures, but I havent bought my license yet.

On a side note, Im trying a new resizing method to try and retain some image sharpness for you guys. Let me know if it works. If not then it is definitely the attachment uploader on the site.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!

The last of them for this thread

The last image is titled "disappointment" Fishing for walleyes is a blast. Trying to fight a fish in the current is always difficult. This guy was fighting this fish for nearly 10 minutes. Once he brought it in, is was a measly bottom feeder, and had to be thrown back.

clearly this new resizing method doesnt help. Ill try to upload through flickr or something to get you guys a little better quality.

I'd love to see a panno of the first two shots. Something about a long line of men fishing in their hip waders strikes me as humorous, most likely because I've never encountered such a sight Safe to say I like the first two shots here.

Ill give it a shot. Its still early in the season and the water is still high. As the water goes down, more fish enter the river and move upstream, which also means more guys in the water fishing. Ill be sure to get down there a few more times and humor you a little more.
