Simplicity

This is a discussion on Simplicity within the Show your photo (Color) - Landscape & Nature (flowers, mountains, storms etc.) forums, part of the Photography & Fine art photography category; Ok. The clock passed midnight so I am letting myself post again. I really feel bad about flooding the forum ...

    Default Simplicity

Ok. The clock passed midnight so I am letting myself post again.
I really feel bad about flooding the forum with so many pictures at once. I should have held back, and still should, but these will be the last ones for a while. A while back ago I posted a couple images that have been my long time favorites. Since then, I have always been striving to look for shots that have been so simple, yet so appealing. Here are the original shots Ive loved for so long for any of you who might not remember or need a refresher....

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!

I enjoy going out at night because that is when you can get some of the most dramatic pictures. As I stepped onto the back patio, a couple of leaves were yelling at me the same way the leaf from last year was. These are only about 15 minutes old and I can't help but love this kind of stuff. This whole concept of "Simplicity" is something I have been continuing to work on but it does not happen like this too often. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do/did. Cheers!

Those last couple have striking texture and shadow from that strong sidelight.

What is the liquid in the first shots? Water should have soaked into the cemet or spread out I would think? Is it resin/sap?

Nope, just water. The concrete gets sealed every year. For a month or so after, any water that lands on it immediately beads up like that. Pretty cool to watch, acts exactly like Mercury if you've ever seen that.

Yep ... know what you are saying.

I use RainX on my windscreen ... you have that? Does a similar thing to water on your windscreen.

    I like the last two.

The first couple had some potential with the shadows. I think with both the leaf and water it is a little distracting. Either the leaf or the water would have made interesting photos.

You mean my Windshield? The different terminology is quite fun. But yes, I use RainX as well as their wipers, and it does the same thing.

I personally like the water myself. It is laying in the same pattern/direction as the leaf. It starts high left, then falls down to the right. The parallel between the leaf and the water to me is fantastic. However, this is just my opinion as you have yours. That is what is so great about this stuff in that everyone can maintain their own opinions and there is nothing wrong with that. Thanks for yours.

Very nice play JJ - love the texture and deep shadows as well as the composition. The last 2 are my faves.

And I'm in a slow phase in terms of uploading...so I'm (I think we are all happy when new pics get posted) happy to let others post as much as they want s'all good.

Yes ... windshield for you ... windscreen for me.

Trunk for you ... Boot for me.

Hood for you ... Bonnet for me.

gas for us...petrol for you MA?
JJ I really like them all but I am especially drawn to #3 and #4 because the shadows in 3 reminds me of a dancing devil figure and in 4 it looks like an animal (lizard or dog) or something...I like that!
