Very well down. This picture causes me to want to know what is on the other side of the knoll along the path.

Thank you very much for the kind words everyone !!

    Marko

As far as pp time in my work I usually do 2 to 3 versions. Each one taking
30 mintues each, so 1 1/2 hours total pp time. I do 2 to 3 versions
because each version reveals new hidden wonders in the scene kind
    of like art painting.

Sometimes I get the keeper on the first version but more times than not it
is always the second version is the keeper. If the place has very complex
lighting it might take 3 version to get everything out of the image in pp,
In that case I will take a break on the versions through out the day
    to reduce eye strain.

Here is the way I do orton effect in pp using Nikon Capture NX2.
I got this info from a tutorial off the net and is seems to work really well.

1-use midtone (levels) slider to brighten photo (2.04)
2-select gaussian blur, set radius slider to (15.85)px and opacity to (100)%
go to blending mode and select (multiply)
    3-readjust (levels) sliders if necessary
4-in the case of my work to get the muted colors just turn down
    the saturation

That should do it, hope this helps.

    Take care,

    Dwayne Oakes

I really like this image. Many images you look at and and are very - truthfully forgettable - this one is memorable. I wish I could put my finger on it but i think that is the reason why i like it. Intangible.

Thank you for taking the time to explain all that Dwayne. Very much appreciated. The time you spend in PP is time very well spent .

My next podcast is on the Orton Effect. It talks about the root/history of Orton and will include digital methods as well. If I choose to include your method is that okay with you? If you prefer not, no problem whatsoever. Feel free to answer here or by PM.

    Best!

I don't see why you could not use it as it is on the net as a tutorial.
I did not come up with this method for NX2 so I can't the credit for it
    as it is not mine.

Did you see the one photo were put the camera down a tree stump hole pointing up
on self timer ? Now that was mine. lol watch out for the spiders lol.
