That is quite amazing. Is it not sobering when one sees what little can make such a difference in the life of a person? When I was a student, all I had was a mattress, a stereo and a small bar fridge. Mind you, the room I rented was in much better repair, and did not need that much fix up. His speakers seem to be his pride and joy, make by hand from components he could scrounge up wherever.

Very interesting journalistic photography. Love the pic with the two guys and the cat. It tells such a story.

That was quite an experience and shows you how different things are. If I went into a seemingly abandoned building in this shape in Toronto I'm sure I'd be walking into a drug den and potentially dangerous. In Cuba this is simply where these two guys live.They were very friendly and seemed reasonably happy and healthy. Makes you think ... do we really need all these material items in our life to be happy.

p.s. By the way they did say that the Government is going to get them a new place to live.
