Default What video programs are you using (do you recommend) - Video experiences

    Hi members,

Lots of members including myself want to try or want to get better at video.
Personally, I have selective experience with video - where I've made them a couple of years ago with (Adobe premiere pro CS5) but then so much time passes that then when i try again - sometimes with new gear - I find relearning stuff and some of the basics time consuming.

I'd be curious to know what video programs members are using to edit their videos as well as how difficult learning the software was.....AND how robust you feel the software is.

Is there something easier than Premiere Pro that's nearly as robust and much easier to learn?

Basically can members share their experience and recommendations with editing and the equipment they are using.

In my case, equipment wise, I have a small panasonic 18 month old HD camcorder (HC-V700) that to my eye is very good on my computer...but i'm fighting now to decide which video software I should invest time (re)learning.

    Thanks in advance!

I use Premiere Pro for my editing. I ended up subscribing to the complete suite from Adobe and I really like the way everything works together. If you give Premiere Pro a chance I am sure you will see it pretty easy to use and there are tons of tutorials on YouTube for almost anything you could want to do. It also has great programs like Audition in the suite which can help solve many sound problems. Anyone starting into video will quickly learn that audio will make or break your videos. Just think to when you watch online videos and I bet the ones you turn off the quickest are the ones with bad sound.

For equipment I use a Sony FS-100 with all my nikon

VideoPad, Video Editing Software. Download Free Video Movie Editor is pretty straightforward and while I haven't done much video editing it seems to do everything I need to do. Also, for personal use it's free though you get a lot more features if you pay for it. Less than $100 depending on the version and they seem to have discounts quite often. Today it's $20 - $30 off depending on the version you want.

At least you can download it and try it before you buy it. Something I always look for in software!
