This photography podcast talks about using shutter speed in photography for creative effects. When you want to photograph something that is moving, you the photographer should decide on the shutter speed. Don’t let the camera decide for you.
The digital photographs below were taken at Red Rock Crossing in Sedona Arizona (ya gotta go — it’s amazing!). You can see that‚the long shutter speed (1 second) has a blurring paintery effect in the water, where the fast shutter speed (1/500)‚practically freezes the water. You can click the photos to enlarge them.

Found this podcast and I love it! I’m a beginning photographer and I’m thinking of attending art school next year, so these podcasts will be very, very valuable. Thank you so much!
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for the compliment! Almost all the tips can be used by any SLR, so although I don’t know your camera inside and out, you will benefit from any new tips that are released.
Thanks again!
Marko
Hello Marko; I cannot thank you enough for your insight and information on photograghy. I,ve only been learning about it for 5 weeks and I could not find any real help till I found your site. Do you have any tips for using the Canon S5IS model camera? Thank you again
My Pleasure Andre,
Thanks again for being an avid listener!
Marko
