    It's hilarious the way the turkey appears to be looking right at the camera and has a sardonic slyly smiling expression. Makes me wonder what it might be thinking, indeed.

    Could be worse - they could be the size of bears, which tend to do the same thing. The larger ones are capable of removing car doors.

    Yeh ... thankfully we don't have too many animals on land that are capable of actually eating us.

    Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

    Thanks HBG. They are quite tame and will come very close as long as you aren't walking in their direction. If you do that they scuttle off and try to catch one (by hand) anytime you like ... you won't, they are so fast.

    They build huge incubation mounds and regulate the temp within a degree or so for the eggs. They are protected by law and I think (I was told but can't confirm) the penalty for killing one is huge.
