    The start of the teenage years. (This is a male mallard just starting to shed the juvenile feathers - you can see the green patch showing through. Some are really shaggy at the moment, but I haven't gotten a good shot of that yet)

    "Nice neighborhood, let's stay" (There are a number of wood ducks that have taken up residence instead of moving on. This is a male and female pair, in non-breeding plumage).

    Thanks, folks. There are still a lot of juveniles hanging around, so I may yet get a decent shot of teenage mange.
