    I was just in Tofino this weekend too! and I saw the whales. A mother humpback and her calf. Did you see her breach? Spectacular!!!!

    No...we were only on our small 13' zodiac fishing a little offshore and were lucky enough to see this one whale surface slightly, blow and then head down. I dropped the fishing rod, tried to grab the camera in time to take this pic. I wish I was more prepared. We did not go "official" whale watching...just happened to be in the right spot. I would love to see the whale breaching!

    Cool. Whale Watching is in full swing here at present also. Migaloo the famous white humpback is off our coast now. We plan to go whale watching in October all going well.
