    We took a break for breakfast at the airport cafe. It was busy, and we ended up on the deck outside. This critter was hanging on the wall. Big one.

    I once had one on my leg sitting around a campfire in Ontario. It was huge! this is neat one.

    Mantises are found world wide, Iguanasan. I used to catch them when I was a kid living in Phoenix, which at the time was a pretty small city. They're kinda frightening if you think about it - constantly hungry, and I've seen footage of them taking down hummingbirds. The power behind their strike and the spikes on the forelimbs probably do a good job of tearing the bird's chest muscles.
