    Default More Birds......

More snow here lately so I have been looking for things other than landscape and snow covered structures to shoot. Fortunately this time of year a few of the different birds have started to return. Went out in the backyard after work and the the crabapple trees were "full" of waxwings. Started shooting them and then got a flash of red in the viewfinder. First robin I've seen this season. Heres a couple.

Have to say, love that first shot of the Bohemian Waxwing Aub. They are quite rare in this Province so consider yourself quite lucky. We have been getting the odd flocks during migration, but that is all.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Beautiful capture of the waxwing! The robin is quite handsome but the waxwing with the red tips of its wings showing is outstanding!

The colours on that first one are awesome. It's a wonderful capture that really outshines the other two. (sorry).

Echoing the other comments on the waxwing. Excellent clarity in that shot, and a very pretty bird as well.

Thanks everyone. That first shot was an ideal setup. They were all in the closest tree to me literally only a few feet away. I was able to shoot away at will with the
70-300 pretty much wide open. Very lucky! The other 2 were were shot with the same lense but at some distance.

Love them all. That first one is amazing, the sharpness and colours.
