    Default Bald eagles

I have bald eagle nests within 1km of my home. Here are some pictures I have gotten. I hope some of you decide to attempt editing them. So I can see what to do. And what can be done. If you want more pictures I have hundreds. Eagles with fish and so on. But here are a few to start with.

I have a million more. But here are a few. I am sorry. I feel that I'm hogging the forum. But I am just an excited fresh 20 something that wants to learn.

Those are some very nice images of a bald eagle. The last two are my favourites. The close up of his head is really nice.

Hi Hunter - Happy you are here to learn/practice, it's the only way to get better. You are very lucky to have such fab birds around you.

These are decent tries but they have issues imo: Since u are okay w/comments, here goes
1 - The bird looks underexposed here and could have benefited from fill flash, or more exposure overall and let the bkgd highlights blow out. Bird's eye is blurry, focus was missed and/or shutterspeed too slow. For a bird like this my minimum shutterspeed would be 1/500 in all 4 shots.

What was your shutterspeed? are you on autofocus or manual

2 - Better exposure than 1 but same problem (focus was missed and/or shutterspeed too slow) I say this because other parts of the image are sharper than the eye. ALWAYS focus on the eye. If autofocus won't get you that sharpness (with an appropriate shutterspeed), go manual.

3 - 3 has the sharpest eye but is underexposed.

4 - 4 looks slightly overexposed , and the whole image is soft.

Rather than showing us older pics, if you answer the bolded question we can offer additional advice on how to improve future pics.

    Hope that helps - marko
