Default A Visit from Wild Parrots

Below are a few shots of some wild parrots that came visiting to the cabin we were staying in on the weekend.

My post will be followed by the shots Chantelle took also.

My wife Leanne with a female Australian King Parrot. Although a wild bird, it is obviously used to humans here and gladly ate the nuts we offered her.

Her hubby wasn't as forthcoming and preferred to stay a few metres away.

But the lure of nuts drew him in eventually

Here he sits on one of my cycling jerseys

This parrot is an Eastern Rosella and unfortunately very, very shy. I couldn't get anywhere near these birds so these two shots are cropped heaps and not great quality.

Was amazing how tame these King Parrot's were, especially the female.

WOW! Amazing colours MA, and sure are used to people aren't they? Love that comical look of the last shot.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Beautiful birds! They can be such clowns. Nice work on capturing them, M.A. and Chantelle and I mean that photographically of course.

Beautiful pictures of this colourful bird. Really like the last one where then bent neck mirrors the bend in the pipes.

By the way shouldn't the females be called 'Queen' parrots.
